How to have the ideal Thanksgiving Day while being healthy and still eating & drinking everything you want!!

Thanksgiving is TOMORROW!!!

I'm so excited!
Here's how to create the ideal (in my opinion) Thanksgiving Day that's healthy while still eating and drinking what you want! Yep, that's possible.

Here we go:
Wake up, pray/meditate for 5-10min (or longer), think (say out loud, journal) everything you are thankful for. Remember it’s Thanksgiving!!!

Get out of bed drink a glass of room temp water (with lemon if available) to boost your metabolism and get things...moving. lol.

Eat a light breakfast. Here are two suggestions:
  • Green Smoothie (1 scoop protein powder, 2 cups leafy green veggies (spinach is the best start), 1-1.5 cup(s) fruit (berries preferred), 1 TBSP peanut butter, flax meal, chia seeds with 8-10oz of water, coconut water, almond milk, milk.
  • Egg White (3 white 1 whole) with 1-2 cups veggies. Feel free to include sausage or bacon (fat drained)
This should last you about 3 hours
Drink a glass of water afterwards
Workout!
This needs to be a strength training session. Either use the one posted a couple of days ago, or do your own with weights that are challenging. Finish up with 10min of intervals (30sec fast, 90 sec slow for 5 rounds). Cool down with a 5-10min walk.
Drink at least a bottle of water during the workout

In between meal (if needed):
  • Plain yogurt topped with fruit, nuts and a drizzle of honey/maple syrup
  • ¼ cup trail mix mixed in with yogurt
  • ½ PB & J sandwich
  • Salad topped with protein

Thanksgiving lunch/dinner:
  1. LOOK FIRST to see what looks amazing. Remember the things that you really love to eat.
  2. Fill your plate with half vegetables. Then fill ¼ of the top with protein (whatever combo you want) and other ¼ with starches (whatever combo you want that will fit). Do not play the “I’ll go vertical game” you are the only one who loses in the end.
  3. Eat the veggies FIRST!! Then eat the other two.
  4. CHEW your food and eat slowly. Put down your fork throughout and breathe. It should take you at least 10min to eat your plate.
  5. Drink a glass of water after your meal.
Socialize for a bit without any food
If you are still hungry, fix yourself another plate using the same formula before. Change up the proteins & starches if you want. Always eat the veggies first.

Repeat until you are satisfied, not stuffed.
DO NOT eat dessert right away.
If you are nervous that it’ll be gone, choose your desserts on a small plate (whatever your favs are) and set to the side.

After Thanksgiving dinner:

Go for a 20-30min walk with family or alone to help your food digest.

Go back and eat some dessert IF there is something that looks amazing. Eat it like each dessert was $500. Slow, savor it!
Drink a glass of water afterwards

Alcohol
Drink your fav drink like it is a $1k drink. Slow and savor it. Drink a glass of water in between each drink
Have another glass or two of water in the evening.

The next day:

30min of cardio

5min warm up (doesn’t count towards 30min)
15 min intervals (1 min mod fast, 1 min slow)
10 min steady walk mod-slow pace
5 min cool down

That's it!

No doubt this is very different from what you've done in the past, but if you commit to it, I promise that you'll feel better, in more control and less bloated than ever while still eating everything you want!
Commit to YOUR process here and ignore family members who can be condescending. Don't fall for it or the social pressures to pig out. Go into dinner knowing that you can do this and that you wanted this year to be different.

Have a great Thanksgiving!

:)

"I chose Tosha because she has a realistic approach to fitness. It's tailored to my lifestyle,
goals and needs.

I never thought that I would someday enjoy working out... But now I do!! Its fun.

A Tosha Bailey plan is never boring. She pushes my body to heights I didn't think were possible and the feeling of accomplishment makes me want to work even harder.

I love her approach to nutrition. Instead of telling me what I can't eat... She tells me what I can and it really works!

This is no quick weight loss plan.
Tosha has taught me how to have a healthy LIFE and that's a plan worth working for!"
